Fort Worth Personal Injury Lawyers
Discuss Their Law Firm
Transcript
We handle all types of
personal injury cases here; that includes trucking
collisions, serious car wrecks, construction site
accidents, defective products injuring people, wrongful
deaths occurring from any of those situations.
It's work that I often
feel like we're really fighting dragons, and we're going
after the bad guys. We're trying to right a wrong.
We're trying to help people in their hour of need.
We have the experience
because we focus on these particular type of cases.
Every lawyer here is board certified in Personal Injury
Trial Law.
Board certified lawyers
have taken the time to really understand a practice just
in a very narrow field.
Some of the things that we do
a little bit differently here at Laird & Cummings that
some other firms may not do is using focus groups and
jury consultants.
In our case, oftentimes we
deal with the same defense lawyers over and over again;
we also deal with the same insurance companies over and
over again.
From the very beginning, we
anticipate that that case will probably go to trial.
You never know which cases will or will not end up in a
courtroom, but we always want to be prepared, and that's
the way that we approach each and every case that we
take.
Most of our cases come from
former clients, other lawyers. And the reason that
other lawyers frequently refer cases to us is because,
first of all, they're familiar with our results, they
consider us professional, and they know us to be
ethical, and they want the best job done for their
clients who they refer to us. They put their trust in
us to handle their clients the best way possible. We're
honored to do that, and it's very humbling to know that
so many of our colleagues refer cases to us.
We never charge for a
consultation, and any case that we take is handled on
what we call a contingency fee. That simply means that
if there's no recovery, there's no attorney's fee.
It levels the playing
field. It makes it so that an injured person can hire
qualified, competent, skilled trial lawyers to go up
against the insurance lawyers.
It shows the client that
we're going to be motivated and that we have an invested
interest and that we also take the risk. We share the
responsibility along with the client of trying to do
everything that we can to see that justice is done.
When there's a trucking
collision that seriously injures somebody or causes a
death, those are cases that we have a lot of experience
in handling. Those cases are complex. There are a lot
of rules and regulations that govern the conduct of the
truck driver and the trucking company.
I think the best time to
consult with a lawyer is early on, the earlier the
better, simply because a lawyer could give you guidance
in protecting your rights.
The answer is it's not too
soon, whatever time frame that you're talking about,
because evidence could change or disappear, witnesses
can move away, or their memories start to fade. And the
sooner that a lawyer can start putting together the
evidence, the better it's going to be for the families
involved with so much at stake.
